This page still under construction

Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club is roughly 72 acres of beautiful woodland in Western Kitsap County, just a few miles up Seabeck Highway northwest of Bremerton. We have several open-sky ranges utilizing about eight acres, with the rest acting as buffer. We have a Washington State Department of Ecology approved culvert system draining stormwater which enters our property from the south. It runs under the rifle line and into a wetland which is part of our property. Years of soil and water testing by our on-site environmental lab has proven our heavy metals are contained. Water leaves this facility cleaner than it arrives.

To be honest, most of a decade fighting for our right to operate as we did for nearly 90 years before that has left us a bit disheveled. We will expand this page with photos new and old in the coming weeks, to show you many of the glorious activities he have hosted in the pastā€”and will again soon!

50-yard Pistol/Rimfire Line

Our covered and walled pistol/rimfire line overlooks a 50-yard range with 12+-foot-high earthen impact berms on all three sides. There is a four-foot tall cross range berm at 25-yards. There are 24 foldable shooting benches.

200-yard Rifle Line

Our covered rifle line is walled on two sides to cut down on wind and rain. Twelve two-station concrete shooting benches and stools provide capacity for 24 shooters. The range is 200-yards, with smaller berms at 25-yards and 50-yards. We have a line of doors to hang targets on at 100-yards. From there, the ground slopes gently and allows targets to be established at 150 and 200 yards. Three heavy steel gongs can be found out there, too. The first 100-yards of the rifle rangeā€™s left side is a 12-foot earthen berm which separates the shooting bays to the north. The earth barrier at the far end of the range is a 25-foot cliff face. Above that, hill and a thick fir forest continue to rise beyond to the east into the bulk of our buffer land.

Both the rifle and pistol lines have the following additional features:

  • Noise reducing baffles installed on the leading edge of the roof
  • Concrete paved slab
  • LED strobe system to help communicate when someone has placed the range into a Cold status
  • Central podium and PA system for the Range Officers
  • Trauma kit and fire extinguisher
  • Propane heaters
  • A small variety of blocks and other bench-rest materials
  • Materials to erect targets exactly where you want; while also ensuring your rounds hit the berms
  • Buckets for your casings if you donā€™t want to take them
  • Safety cans for dud rounds

The Action Bays

Scattered around the property are eleven, multi-berm shooting bays, most with a table and canopy staged for use. Eight are fully accessible during normal range operations, with the other three available on an as-needed basis. The bays are a variety of depths, each containing multiple earthen berms. One has two overlapping ā€œfront bermsā€ and a heavy wood door, allowing for us to set up 360-degree shoot houses for special competitions. These bays host a variety of classes and shooting sports. Members who complete required additional safety training and pass a practical shooting exercise may use the bays when theyā€™re not in use for other events.Ā
